We live in Adelaide, and one day in the year 2000, we were in the school playground when two school parents asked if we had heard of Teams and would be interested in joining their newly forming team. Of course, the answer must have been “yes,” because here we are after many years! We are grateful and enriched by the members of our Team—its couples and a Josephite sister. Our monthly connection, simple shared meals, prayer, support, discussion, and reflection mark our life in Teams. Our team has been an extended family for all our kids. We are privileged to serve as the Responsible Couple for the Oceania Super Region in the worldwide movement and to work alongside others here in Oceania and around the world who are equally inspired to see the gift of Teams shared widely in our parishes and communities.

Regional Couples
Queensland Region
Mary and Harry
We are both originally from New Zealand, but we have moved around with Harry's work, living in Toowoomba for 13 years, Perth for 5 years, and Brunei for 3.5 years. We are now based in Brisbane. In Brunei, we were part of a rich faith community, and after moving to Brisbane in 2000, Mary heard about the Teams movement at Mass. The sharing and support between our team members are like family.
NSW-ACT Regions
Roula and John
John and Roula are the Regional Couple for the ACT-NSW Region of TEAMS, which includes Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory and Sydney in New South Wales. As of early 2023, there were 16 TEAMS groups in this region, comprising about 79 couples and 7 Spiritual Counsellors. There are 9 TEAMS in Canberra and 7 TEAMS in Sydney.
Vic East Region
Rose Marie
The Vic East Regional Team oversees Teams in Melbourne and Gippsland, Victoria. Over 50 years ago, my late husband Bob and I joined a group of five couples from our Parish when our children were young. We sought to deepen our marriages and our sense of belonging to a faith community. Over the years, we have celebrated together, grieved, and supported one another as loved ones have passed away. I have been fortunate to participate in activities of the International Movement and have witnessed how Teams has been a gift to people worldwide.

Jo and Chris
We live in Adelaide and joined Teams in 2003 to deepen our connection with each other after our children had left home. Teams has allowed us to listen and share more deeply. For us, Teams is our domestic church. Our Teams gatherings are a source of support and fun.
Vic West Region
Chris and John
Our story began in our senior high school years, and we married young, vowing to grow together—a promise that has shaped our 42 years of marriage. We are blessed with three married children and six beautiful grandchildren who continue to bring joy to our lives. Over 30 years ago, dear friends invited us to join Teams in Wangaratta, and what a life-changing invitation it turned out to be. Even after a seven-year relocation for work, we found our way back to our original Team, where we've shared the past 23 years in faith and friendship.
Throughout our journey, we've been privileged to serve in many roles, including a previous term as Regional Couple, and have cherished the opportunities to organise retreats, support formation, and nurture leadership. Each experience has been rich with connection, prayer, reflection, and deepened faith.
Teams has been a true blessing, providing not just support but a community of love and encouragement. We are humbled and excited to once again serve as the Regional Couple for Vic West, continuing a journey filled with hope, growth, and grace.
New Zealand
Jan and Tony
We are from the coastal city of Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty region of New Zealand and have been married over 40 years. We joined Teams in 2018 when we saw its benefits of journeying with other married couples and belonging to a global faith based community of like minded couples striving to live out their Sacrament of Marriage with the support of priests, deacons and religious. We are enjoying our role as Responsible Couple in New Zealand and are actively promoting its growth.
Philippines
Elma and Frederick
We have been part of Teams for nearly 25 years. We find it connects us as a couple, as a community and with the wonderful Piarist Fathers in our parish here in Cebu.
The first team formed in Cebu in 2000 under the founding guidance of Fr Jose Burgues, the Piarist Fathers Vice-Provincial Superior of the Philippines and Japan.
